Does anyone have any ideas on this?
How do install more memory on the partner 1 cent 5 control? and what type?
Thanks in advance
Does anyone have any ideas on this?
Got a Cent V controller on a Partner 4 here.
The memory that the computer runs on is 30 pin SIM's and probably only available by scrounging at the computer recycler. Maybe available at the factory, have not checked. Shudder at the though of what they would want for it, too. Might be reasonable, though.
The good news. Adding more won't help, as far as I can find out. The computer runs as well as it will on 2 megs of RAM.
The part memory in our machine is on the SimDisk, and not readilly upgradeable. If you need to run larger parts, DNC from the diskette, or set up for network DNC (can't help you there, still trying to get ours to work).
Our machine does not have a hard disc drive. If you have one, you should be able to use it to DNC from.

do you mean the part memory is not enough?
you could install a hard disk in the control box. dont choose more than 20G capacity of the hard disk! and install it like a computer.
and must pay attention!
you must confirm the path as below:
If it is a Centurion 5 control and the Hard Drive is for parts storage only, (the Simdisk is still
installed) the path should be:
ROM: A:\ROM\
RAM: B:\RAM\
PARTS: D:\PARTS\
DISPLAY: E:\
FLOPPY: C:\
