Our ZF 2 speed gearbox has had a failure in the planetary gear section. A planetary gear shaft set screw came loose and the shaft fell and jammed on an oil port boss. The spindle motor over came the boss shearing off some metal, the gearbox would then make a ticking sound at different speeds. I removed the gearbox and shipped it to ZF in Vernon Hill, IL. The ZF rep says it will only be $600.00 to repair the problem, they feel this failure came about from a harsh vibration. Has anyone experienced any gearbox trouble? Best regards, Glenn  |
