I have recently had problems with my machine not wanting to home when I boot it up. It says that Z-axis is homing yet it is not moving. I can select the F10 home here option and jog the axis's with the hand wheel only but not the rapid button. The problem comes and goes though. I attributed it origonaly to a thurough cleaning I did recently and got something wet because the next day about mid morning is fixed it self. I hate it when things do that!!!I thought it all had to do with the 4th axis wires so I completly disconnected it and told the control it was a 3 axis machine but the problem came back.
Now I have a new problem. Machine will not boot up. When it trys to an error comes up on the screen saying SRAM freespace = -1 ??? Some other options on how to check it and so forth also apper on the screen when I hit F1. Talked to Milltronics and they said to box it up and ship it to them that the control was toast. This sounds expensive!!!
Has any one else see such errors and were they able to fix it ?
Control is boxed up and heading up there today so If any one knows please let me know ASAP.
Thank you.
The error "SRAM Freespace = -1" usually is due to a simdisk battery being dead. The battery on the simdisk should have 3.6VDC. Many times this battery is soldered onto the board and requires it to be removed and a new one installed. Sometimes this can be too much for people to accomplish. Send the control in, Milltronics will review and give you a call when they figure out what is wrong.
