We purchased a Milltronics RH-33 about a year ago and it acts up about once a day. It will start to drill and not turn the spindle motor on (after a few cycles no programming errors) Stop the machine jog up and hit the cycle start and it is fine. Sometimes it just stays at home position and the graphics and position numbers are moving but the machine is not. It has a centurion 7 control, Is this common?
we've got centurion 5 but had similar problems , I'm not sure if yours has the board with 10 or so mechancal relays on it? Our machine had problems intermittently whenever the spindle stopped for a toolchange or cycle start , it would stall and just sit there untill it felt like going again , along with many other qwirks , there is a spare relay in ours we swapped it with the spindle relay and completely cured the problem , turned out almost all of the problems with it were those relays. CR11 was the spare in ours and i believe cr 8 or 5 was for the spindle. Maybe try swapping those before you jump to any major conclusions. When I had talked to milltronics about our issues they said it was the accroloop cards and we would have to send the card cage to them to fix for 1500.00 , turned out we swapped relays and problem solved (before we sent the cage thankfully)
kinda strange that it would record position changes without it moving though? To the best of my knowledge if it's recording position changes that would mean the encoders are turning and likewise the servo motors.....is it possible the pulleys on the servos are loose? I doubt all of them could be loose at the same time? Can you hear the servos working when it does this? Just a thought
