Hello, I am a new Milltronics VMC owner and user - the machine in question was bought used. First job on it was on 420 sst (38 RC), 1/2 diameter carbide endmill trying to take a .125 DOC and it stalls the spindle. Then it occurred to me that the machine may be in high gear. Used the m41 and m42codes to try and shift from high to low and vise versa but nothing seems to be happening. Can anyone offer any insight on if I am on the right track? Where is the shift linkage on a Milltronics located? Thanks, B_Squared |

| How old is your machine? Only the really old ones were gear head (inported iron). If it is a newer one it may have a belt to change ranges. This you must do manually. Another variation is a motor which has different sets of windings for high and low. And finally there is the version with no hi/low, just one speed range. Dan |
