I have a partner 4 with centurion 4 controller.
The problem is when on boot up it go's to memory-test and that is as for it will go, after a short period of time the monitor will rotate with the same message ? What would be better to fix or replace the control system? If so with what?
Sounds like your battery is dying or is dead or you may have a bad memory
chip on your motherboard. Your number 1 key may be stuck, this will force the
machine into a RAM test on bootup. If it did this? You most likely have lost
your machine parameters.
If you have your machine parameters backed up.
Have someone turn on the main power while someone holds down the
1 key. This will cause a "Ram Test", it will test bank 0000 thru 9000 of RAM.
It will write and read back 2 strings of 16 digits. if it hangs up on one the
the strings then you most likely have a bad RAM chip(s) on that row of Ram.
If you can't get the "RAM Test" to work and you have your parameters backed up, go into the cabinet and turn off the battery ( there is a switch
right next to the round battery). Wait 5 minutes or more and try the Ram test again.
If don't have your parameters backed up, turn on the machine as you are now and after it goes thru its motions, start pushing the reset button over
and over again and usually it will come up to to the command page where
you can get into the control, check parameters etc.
I would start with some contact cleaner on the number 1 key and go from there.
good luck
