Vise size

Hey guys, going to be picking up my mill in a couple weeks. Partner 1e 30" x travel.

In the interim I ran into a screaming deal on a kurt dl-800 8" dual station, is this thing going to fit?

Also have a basic 6" kurt as well. But a dual station will be nice.

Hi Yugami, Kurt shows the DL-800 has a OAL of 34.25" (that's LARGE) so it would not fit using it aligned with Y axis. You would have to mount it length wise on the X axis and it would need to be mounted towards one end of the table so that you could swing the vise handle. or use a ratchet. It could work with a little fore thought. Just not in the "traditional" way of doing it. But if it works for you, Then I think we would like to see pics of it in action. :-)

The 6 inch is a full go ahead.

Well I'll give it a chance and see what happens. Got it cheap enough I shouldn't have an issue flipping it if it doesn't work out

What are the dimensions of the table on a 30" travel 1E? Playing around with possible layouts of multiple vise and fixture options (before actually moving the mill in a couple weeks.)
