Changing drive inverter from Yaskawa G3 to Yaskawa f7
Any help switching out Yaskawa G3 inverter to Yaskawa F7 on Partner 6 mill, would be appreciated. Wiring diagrams or parameters needed. I actually have an electrical engineer from work coming over to do it but I have noticed there are some very smart people on here and thought maybe somebody may already have done it. This is sort of a reconnaissance mission and I would like to make sure the tool changer works.

Re: Changing drive inverter from Yaskawa G3 to Yaskawa f7
Changing out drives can be challenging.
1. mark all existing wires and what terminal they are at on the existing drive.
use the machine electrical manual and note the function of that wire and compare to the new drive manual.
There are "programmable" inputs and out puts that will have to be set for "THAT" function. see the new drive manual for setting the I/O
usually you can use the same terminal # and set that terminal I/O function. the new drive will most likely have different "ground" terminals. just move the "old" grounds to the "new" ground terminals as shown in the drive manual.
usually Terminal #1 is fwd run and #2 is the rev run terminals.
set motor info parameters per the new drive manual.
Got all that done? then run the auto tune per the new drive manual.
next time call me 1st. I will save you time and money.
