    Unhappy Dirty Milltronics Tachwheel ?

My older Milltronics Retrofit (1987 Acer) is currently jumping in the Y axis Negitive dierection only, unless you feed real slow---I have heard that it might be a dirty Tachwheel, can anyone tell me where that would be located, and the proper procedure for cleaning this? Thanks Greg

you have to pull the rear cover off, where the cable goes in. that will give you access to the encoder and tach. dry compressed air works well to blow out the buildup of carbon from the brushes. the tach brushes might need replaced if they are badly worn.
