We got a Renishaw digitizer with our miller. It has never been used yet, and to be honest haven't opened the box yet. Is this probe also good for workplace probing? or is that something entirely different? or just a matter of software? I think it was around the 10K mark |

| With the right macro programs, you can have the digitizer locate features, trap values, re-set offsets, and many other things. Look at the parametric programming section of your mill's manual, some versions have an example. |

| cool, i'll have to look inot that when i get a little more proficient with the machine. Do you know if any training is offered or even needed? Or does the manual explain a lot. I don't know of anyone else in my area that uses one. |

If you purchased the probe with your machine as a Milltronics option you should have received a operations manual and disk with the machine, the macros should have been loaded at the factory. If purchased from Milltronics at a later date then the you will need to load the macros on the disk that came with the "package" If it was purchased from some other source you may mave to purchase the macros from Milltronics and/or write your own using the parametric programming. As noted by ZZZZ, You can make the digitizer do lots of different things. From part inspections to duplicating exsisting parts. Sportybob |
