| The way I read this, you have turned the ballscrew a specific amount, say 5º and you get no axis movement? If that's the case, then you have mechanical issues between the ball screw, the ball screw nut, or the mounting on either the ball screw or nut to the table itself. Did you check the connection of the ballscrew to the pulley? I had one of those slip years ago on a Leadwell machine. It never showed up when indicating and checking, but when you hit rapid, the torque of the servo against the mass of the table and such would cause it to slip, loose position and usually error out. |

| It is highly unlikely that the control is causing your backlash issue. You would be seeing excessive backlash with all axis, not just one. .009" of backlash may be from bad thrust bearings, bad ball nut on the screw, or loose harware. Try a push/pull test on the axis. If it moves then you know you have something loose. |
