I have heard of people putting in aftermarket monitors for a couple of bucks. Just called milltronics to see what they offered. $2645.00 for a monitor upgrade to lcd. This anchor probably isnt worth that much but I want to fix it and at least see what it can do. Its a Lathe serial#11722 with what appears to be a 16" CRT. Would greatly apreciate any input from someone who has done the mod. My other option would be to go grab an old CRT and slide that in.

| Open up the control and see if the monitor is plugged into a standard VGA plug . Then try any old computer CRT . You will have to plug the power into an outside 120V cord to try this . I replaced 2 of my mill monitors with LCD flat monitors that I bought online , and built alum boxes to attach them over the hole left by the old CRTs. The F keys don't line up with the screen , but it works fine otherwise . You can get 14" screens for about $120 . |
