    Milltronics Partner 4 (parts manual)

    Hello,
I have a Partner 4 that I have recently bought that has been stripped of the electrical controls that I plan to install a new control system on.
What I need is some info on the mechanical setup and install.
The draw bar mechanism looks different then what I am use to seeing does this machine use a threaded draw bar or some type of pull stud?
Other things like lube and spindle parts break downs are what I seek.
    Thanks for any help

    Have you tried Milltronics?

I've been dealing with them on the 'work' Partner 4, and they have been very easy to deal with, and cheap, for what they are doing.

    Worth a call, IMO.

FWIW, the Two Partner 4 books that I have seen, mine, and the one at work, the drawings look about like third generation photocopies. The numbers are tough to read if they can be read at all, and, well, you are going to end up dealing with them anyways...Might as well check.

The two I deal with use a pneumatic cylinder to release a pull stud puller. Dunno what the machines without a pushbutton tool change use.

    Cheers

    Thanks trevj1 for the reply
I have the cylinder release but it is a little different then the ones I have seen before on other mills.
I was told the machine is a NMTB 40 taper and it didn't use pull studs but I believe that info is incorrect I don't see how it would screw into the tooling.
I will get my serial # and call milltronics and they should be able to tell me I hope which one I have.

It was probably set up for Cat or BT 40 taper tooling. Big difference, if manually changing the tools, is that the BT uses mostly Metric threads on the pull studs, the Cat, inch size. Cat drive notches are different too, not both notches the same.

The taper is the same for both. The collar that the tool changer would hold is different. No biggie if manual changing tools, but makes like complicated in a tool changer carousel. The groove is at different heights.

Yeah. A phone call to Milltronics with the machine serial number should get it sorted.

    Cheers
