    V belts for ML15

Just took delivery of my used 2000 ML15 and noticed the drive belts are pretty shredded . These are the VEE belts from the drive motor to the head gearbox .
The manual does not tell the part # . It just says "belt "
I know this is an imported lathe bed , so it's probably a metric belt .
The only numbers on the belt are : 1783
It measures approx 75" in length and is about .540" wide .
Where do I get these belts ? I need 3 of them .

This probably explains why the PO needed a bigger machine with more power .
It was only running 2 of 3 belts and one of those had flat spots !

    Thanks

I have an 01 ML 20 that uses the A section V belt A-73, you can get them at industrial supply house or at a large automotive store, just ask for a matched set when installing 3 new ones. Take the old ones with you, they can measure them in the store with a belt measure tool and fix you right up.
    Good Luck

    Thanks Farmer
I went to the auto store & they got me 3 belts within 4 hours .
I insisted they were 75" but they measured them at 74 " .
So now I have 3 belts that are too short . ( motor adjuster out of threads , all the way up )
No big deal , they will get me the right ones tomorrow .
    So the correct belt for a ML15 is : 1/2 X 75" which I think is an A74

Why could'nt they just put the size in the book ?
