Partner V - Spindle Issue / Repair

so an idiot here at work managed to practically destroy my machine

he decided it would be a good idea to wipe the spindle off with a rag while it was turning. the rag managed to get sucked up into the cartridge

I was able to get most of the rag out by turning the spindle by hand back and forth. eventually i was able to run the spindle, but there was some serious heat being generated.

due to this, i figured we needed to disassemble the cartridge and clean everything out. I began the task, and ask the operator to keep going (as punishment)

i return 10 minutes later to find he had a 6' pipe on the wrench, trying to get it apart. Now everything is jammed up more than ever

the spindle is rotating with the end cap nut on the cartridge. I'm at a loss as to what to do, without further damage

any ideas?
