HI, as far as I know and from previous posts, when they get hundreds of emails daily and they're up to their eyes in work, sometimes the message gets side lined.....I would send a few more emails and see what occurs.`
Ian.
I tried to contact Defeng about status of my order, no reply till now. Do you think the web or shop still exist?

If you can make him reply the emails will be good for us. Many of us have placed order to him but don't know the status. He can explain by email or in here...
Hi, I didn't mean I would do any emailing to prompt a reply....it was to suggest that is what I should do in your case.
I waited 2 years for the completion of the order I sent originally due to circumstances as has been noted previously on another thread.
I don't think your order has been put on the back burner indefinitely, things are happening in China, so perhaps a bit of patience is needed.
Ian.
Skyfire does it again right ! Asuratman look it more like a Casino som guys here got lucky some like me not after more than 6 months you can say goodbye to your money ,...i am still pissed

Maybe I need some more times, wait and see...Skyfire does it again right ! Asuratman look it more like a Casino
My bad!! I have been very negligent in updating my experience with my SVM2P. It arrived in late September, and ever since I have been installing and using it, but still not quite finished. I have ordered a different enclosure so I can use my gantry crane to load the table. My shop is a converted bedroom in my house so it is a restricted space in length width and height. My first problem is I had to take it apart to move it into my shop. To reassemble it I needed to customize a gantry crane to fit in the shop.
At this time it is working, but I have more to do to get the tool changer fully functional. I am also delaying the use of coolant until the new enclosure arrives. I had damaged the original enclosure when I dropped the mill on it's back while removing it from the packing pallet. Using the wrong equipment helped Murphy. It was repairable but I decided to get a modified version.
I will post again once the tool changer is fully functional.
Could you give us an update and post a picture or two? The more pictures the better. It would be nice to see one of these at someone's house vs on the factory floor.
The ATC is now working. At this time I am now away from home for a week, but will post some pictures after I get home. I think I will also make a video of the mill doing rigid taping using the ATC to change tools between drilling and tapping.
Hi Mate,
Sorry I missed your question - yes, I have received my SMV2 as per the above specifications, and this week y custom enclosure, as well as HS spindle and 12-tool ATC will ship from Ren's premises too.
i will post pics of the Milk sitting in my garage, still on the pallet, hopefully it will be up and running in a December. I am currently working on the controller components et all.
Will post pics this weekend then
Cheers,
Beano
Hi all: Just a short update - my enclosure has arrived in Melbourne, I am busy clearing it through customs. Might be able to get it released and ready for collection by Friday.
Once I get it all, I will post a few pics for you.
cheers,
beano
EXCITING Beano...........I hope you have lifting tackle to handle the mill......if it's like my SVM-0 you will have a difficult job to not damage something.
There is a difference though.....I received my mill in it's enclosure bolted down on it's sub frame to the pallet in a large packing case.....getting it out was a task.
It's OK at the send off point to handle it with a fork lift into the packing case, but at the destination the package is a vulnerable entity that has no lifting attachment points to attach ropes or slings to.
If there had been some tapped holes in the top of the column I could have screwed an eye bolt in and done a lift with my engine crane.
A much better solution would have been a 25mm hole through the sides of the column near the top so that a steel bar could be passed through for a sling to be attached.
In the end I cut 2 pieces of wood and attached them to the bottom of the sub frame so that I could get ropes onto it and do a lift with the engine crane.
All of that manoeuvre has been posted before on the original Skyfire thread before they closed it.
One things for sure....all column mills are top heavy.....lifting them with a fork lift is a dodgy exercise..
Ian.
Cheers Mate, good advice there
I finally got my enclosure and 12-Tool ATC on Friday. It was a mission getting the enclosure off the Budget Rental tray truck, as I do not have a forklift at home. I decided to take the top part off, undid 2 dozen bolts, but finally got the top and bottom separated, and myself and 3 neighbors manage to get it off and into the garage.
Good thing I took the top part off, as it would be easier to get the SMV-2 ontop now. Need to workout how I'm going to do that, but all in good time. Then I will split the top part in two halfs by undoing a few more bolts, and fit one side, then the other.
i will start a mini-log for it, as I still need to fit my custom servos, plus do all the e,ectrobis et al.
How's yours doing? Would luv done updates from you
Cheers,
Beano
Hi......You were lucky to have the labour to work on it......I worked single handed with an engine crane.........luck I didn't have to strip any parts or unbolt anything
Mine's in the garage and on the bench I bought for it.........just having fun playing with G code and simulating projects to learn the ropes etc. which is why I bought it.
Having been a manual machinists all my working.....the transition to a machine doing all the moves is a whole new ball game, one that I'm learning to come to terms with.
The weather is getting better now so the incentive to go out and mess in the garage is high.....along with the garden and a big overdue tiling project.
One thing I'm working on and that is a tool maker's vice mod that really needs to be done.
It's one of those 100mm models with the angled pull down screw type and the quick release nut at the bottom is giving me a pain by constantly dropping off the screw or the side slots.
Doing the mod is working out simple as no drastic changes or reworks have to be made and as soon as I finish it I'll post a thread on the method as others probably have the same problem with this type of vice.
Ian.
HA, I need to learn the ropes too, being an electronics engineer/instrumentation tech my whole life, blah....but a good starting point I guess.
Weather is getting there, you're right, I will spent quite many of my next few available weekends in the garage getting things slowly together.
As you might recall, I got the SMV-2 with all mechanicals done and ready, but have to provide my own servos, controller, and electrics in general. That part will be easy for me, so no dramas, it is just to get it done. Luckily I have almost all of the required bits and pieces already.
Just a few pics of the stand, the first ones where it was in China still, just before being packed by Defeng - the last 2 on the truck at my place. Will start a new thread pretty soon, don't want to take yours over :
and below the box housing the HS Spindle, the 12-tool ATC and a few other bits and pieces....
After around 4 months from order to Port Melbourne, finally arrived and at my house - I rented a truck from Budget, picked it up myself, and brought it home - yeah baby.....let the fun begin...the size of it in relation to the truck, gross weight was 400kg....
Gulp....golly gee, Batman, this thing is bigger than both of us.....LOL.....when the packing case is empty you could rent it out as an apartment.....not quite a container size but getting there.
I thought your 4 Months round trip was quite good for a direct import.
When I had a look in the cabinet of my SVM-0 I am of the impression that.....you have lots or wiring and connections to make before the fat lady sings.
At least with mine the electronic parts were already in the cabin ready to go and any subsequent trouble shooting will be a headache....for me that is......fingers crossed.
I still have to install another stepper driver, one that I ordered with it, to cater for an anticipated 4th axis event....one day......but at least a position for it was already drilled and allocated next to the other three.
Then there is a VFD to find a place for the high speed spindle I also got with it.
Ian.
Yeah, the SMV-2 is a rather solid and serious hobbyist machine, I suspect, pretty well loaded with linear ways and stuff like that, as you know. I think it should perform very well for the intended application, might even be a bit over-the-top, but that's ok, I really did only want to spent once on the build.
it would have been a lot wiser and cheaper to get it all in one go, especially wrt clearance/broker fees and stuff like that. But, it's done, I'm happy and finally I can start with the exercise.
There's a bit of panel-building/wiring ahead of me, but other than the need for one or two solid-state relays, I can proceed. I have most of the gear, like servos, drive-controllers, Mesa cards, switches and other bits and bobs already, including Path Pilot software and a new compatible i5 board and chip.
I think I might start a buildlog on the weekend, it might help others venturing down the same path wrt the electronics, as that side will be fairly generic in any event.
catch you soon!
Ian, it's made its way onto the stand Happy days!
Lots of work around the engine-hoist, but in the end, it all worked out well.
