I have friends that like em. I am trying them now and will let you know. We moved from inserted to solid many years ago but cost seems to becoming more of a factor these days.

    Dijet carbide tools

Dijet are middle size Japanese manufacturer of carbide tooling & inserts. I actually been to their plant in Japan, as I use to work for a company who was their UK agent at the time. They are particularly good at making high-performance solid carbide drills & mould & die tooling, and years ago they use to make inserts for other manufacturers like Kennametal, so they are worth trying.
