Im trying to find a suitible replacement for thread cutting small threads in varios steels mainly 316 ss and cs1020
The main threads are 1/8 npt 1/4 npt and 1/8 bspt 1/4 bpst.
Up untill not long ago I waxs using solid carbide minicut thread bars, but it seems minicut has stoped making these.
Whats a good alternative?
I've been having to use iscar thread bars with a 6.8mm shank and indexable inserts but found they preform no where near as well as the sloid carbide minicut inserts
The best way to learn is trial error.
