Looking for an anodizing company referral!

Hello Chaps! Say, I'm starting off a shop doing mostly scale R/C parts and tools. Been doing it for a few years small-time but am purchasing a new Haas & going 'Pro': Thing is, I realize that natural-Aluminum is not acceptable to the high-end customer base I'll be pursuing. I've done some anodizing in the past with a Caswel kit and had some fun, but have neither the time nor desire to do so now, and so am looking for a company that can do it for me. Ideally, they would do relatively small lots: Have a fast turnaround time: Offer a good variety of colours: Charge a reasonable price: And MOST importantly, do a high quality job consistently. (I don't want much, eh? ) Please help me out here with any recommendations! I'm busy as Hell trying to get this shop rolling and Googling "Anodizing Services' hoping to get lucky is a Fool's endeavour at best. Many thanks in advance! Chris

Congratulations on and good luck with your new venture.

Perhaps if you posted where in the USA you are located you would get better quality replies. I am sure you don't want to be shipping stuff all over the country for anodizing.

Better to check out "ThomasNet.com" in your area. Ask local machine shops who they like to use.

Thanks for the replies, Gents: I be in Pueblo, CO. and while closer is better, I'll ship wherever gets me the best work/price. The local machine shops are few and....Not very impressive, and I dislike talking to any of 'em, to be candid! The whole reason I got my education to do this m'self was because shops treated me so badly trying to get parts done. It seems when people hear you're designing 'Toy Car Parts', your cred goes El Flusho....When I do a Ti sprocket for a 10" long 40 MPH motorcycle running .1875 pitch chain, the tolerances are exacting! Much more so than their 1:1 counterparts, so why the stigma, I dunno but it's tangible. Thing with R/C stuff is that cosmetics is all-important: I'd say 85% of upgrade parts sold worldwide are purchased for no other reason than that they look Bas-A$$ (I am not immune from this either. ) So I'm looking for a place that is into the aesthetics and not just an industrial anodizer- Purty Sells! Hey toyranosaur,
I am new here but read your question and I have been dealing with an anodizing firm in VA for years! East West DyeCom, They do an awesome job and I never have to wait more than 5 days! I send them all kinds of work small and little jobs and they do it all... I think the new sales guys name is BEN.. contact him. They also do color work, I am very happy with their selection of colors. They have website www.eastwestdye.com i think Ben's contact info is on there. If you call them tell them Jack from machine r us says hello and work is on the way!

    Good Luck with your hunt!

We use Nor-ell out of Minneapolis. Great service, fast turn-around. I don't have the contact details in the office I'm in, I can get them if you need.
