    Tungsten-Nickel Electroplating to Replace Chrome?

    I was reading a current issue of The Economist and the Science and Technology section had an article about replacing chrome plating with a tungsten-nickel alloy that can be electroplated.

    Both nickel and tungsten are used in High temperature alloys. I wonder if this new composition could be applied to combustion parts and other high temperature applications. I have had several two stroke engines with "Nickasil" Plated Cylinders.
