I'm interested in learning about metalworking and CNC machines in general. I'd like to learn about the different types of machinery available, their pros/cons for different jobs, and how to safely and properly operate them. I'd also like to learn a bit about the general properties and uses of different types of materials (e.g., aluminum vs. steel vs. tungsten).

I have no previous experience with CNC machines or metalworking, however I'd be happy to work for free, or even just be allowed to shadow someone to watch them work.

I have no problem taking orders or showing up on time, even if I'm not getting paid. However, I'm interested in CNC/metalworking as a hobby, so I'm hoping to find someone who's willing to share their knowledge of the field. If you are familiar with CAD software (or SolidWorks-type stuff) that'd be fantastic! I'm willing to do any type of work in exchange for your mentoring, even if it involves sweeping the floor all day.
