RICHMOND, VA???

Hello,
Getting ready to start my first build and was wondering if there is anyone in the Richmond, VA area doing hobby cnc. Very interested in seeing a working setup and picking brains 1 on 1...

I guess you saw my reply in the other Virginia thread...Richmond is a bit out of my way at the moment, but homebuilt machines are always interesting.

What are you planning/building?

Right now I am in the process of putting together a gantry router settup and a small charcoal forge. I will try to start the build log on the router here in the next couple days. Most of the parts are here but i am waiting for the rails to arive on Thursday, kinda like Christmas. I am building the machine first then getting the electronics when I have it done. 2' x 4' x 6", 2 screws on the x axis using a Porter Cable router for the spindle, but with the ability to switch mounting so I can later play with different units.

I don't mind a little trip our your way at some point to do lunch or exchange notes, love the drive...
