T McCall is on a distinguished road
Rookie

Hello,
I am definately a rookie having now completed two weeks on OJT. Initially with the help of a local vereran wire machinist, I have self-taught myself to use a 1996 Mitsubishi CX-20 wire EDM machine. Over the past two weeks I have learned many things and also corrected several issues that one might expect to find with a 12 year old machine. This machine has been with the company that I work for since being purchased new in 1996. One of the dissapointing things that I've learned is the fact that I have only limited literature in the way of manuals and no parts diagrams or parts list. I have contacted Mitsubishi and for a tidy sum they will provide support but I feel that I must first learn more about what I am doing.
I have several simple questions and I would very much appreciate your feedback and suggestions. We have an ultrasonic cleaner...what should I use for the cleaning agent and where do I buy it? Is there a source for manuals other than the OEM? Please suggest sources for repair parts and consumables. I seem to be having alot of trouble keeping my water clean. I am replacing the paper element very often. These are 5 micron filters and I wonder if I should go to maybe a 20 micron filter. The other filters which are much bigger and reside on top of the water tank should be changed how often?

Thank you all for any help you may be willing to provide.

Regards,

T
