help with BUILDING a cnc

I am trying to build a CNC machine from the ground up. I am currently in the table design.

If there is anybody that has built a cnc before or know about building one. Please let me know. I would love to talk to you.

Mill or lathe?

I didn't build my mill from ground up. I fitted a small mill with a kit and built (assembled) my electronics.

I have started a build on a lathe. Don't know when I'll finish it (I'm real slow).

gantry type mill...

I can't help with that but........,

Most of the routers builds on the zone are gantry style machines. Some made of wood and some made of metal (alum or steel).
