Firstly, I'm not an engineer but learning fast. I've signed up to nightskool for CNC & Autocad to help me launch a project which I hope to turn into a business after 1-2 years.

I have a Syil CNC X3 mill & a large Sieg (manual) lathe, hopefully if I launch as a full time business I will move upto industrial CNC like Haas etc.

I know what I want to machine but I'm getting bogged down in learning curves for things like materials, tools, coolants, speeds & feeds etc. Things that most engineers have a careers worth of experience with.

Anyone interested? Don't even need to be local as I'm always near a computer.

^^I think that's a great idea...and it could be expanded upon if the members listed the first half of their post-code, so meets could be arranged periodically between members in nearby areas.

The question is - Do we get the moderator to set up something for us and how do we tell the uk members or do we just start a thread and hope everyone finds us.

Might be worth asking Paul if he will split the Europe forum and add a UK one.Possibly a lot of bother for him and there is already a huge number of forums on this board.

I have experience of phpbb (which is similar to this forum software) and if we need a moderator for our own uk forum if Paul allows it then I would be more than happy to do the job.
