NYC groups or individuals?

If anybody knows of any cnc groups or individuals in the NYC area who need a hand on the weekend, let me know. I'm adept at using Rhino as a modeler and have general shop experience but I have know experiance with cnc. I have number of furniture and design projects that I really want to build.

For now I live in NYC my shop (no cnc yet) is 100miles north. I'd be interested in and meets or shop visits.

Yeah we live in NYC. We've got (for the moment) a 6x12 CNC plasma / router, a full metal shop, manual mill, lathe, powdercoating, and a small wood shop. We're in Greenpoint.

I am on the east side of the hudson and have about 2000 sqft of shop space hopefully my machine will be up in 4 weeks

The east side of the hudson? Would that be the west side of Manhattan? What kind of machine?

Andy I meant west side of hudson, Weehawken. Beautiful view of the city my Polish genes come out in the morning. I am working on a 50" x 38" router all steel construction. hopefully it will work most of my tools (welder,bandsaw etc...) are either hand me downs or cheap harborfrieght junk so will see. the shop is a rundown 12 car garage without runing water but I love it it took me 10 years to find one I can afford you know how rent is around here.

I'm in midtown. Just about to pull the trigger on a TAIG set up... hopefully I don't get evicted! Balatron - i haven't decided on my CAD/CAM yet - was thinking either bobcad or rhino...

what kind of space do you have in midtown? appartment machining?

well i have no equipment at the moment. i live in a 1BR (alone) and am planning a taig setup. Just need to figure out my best options on the enclosure (for both chips and, likely, flood coolant) then I'll start ordering...

I also rent space to like minded individuals. it's really zoned parking and storage so I try to be considerate of the neighbors when it comes to noise the place is .8 miles from the jersey side of the lincoln tunnel jitney busses from 42nd stop about a block away takes 10minutes from port athuority off peak

zippy - id like to see your shop some time. i'm trying to put together a shop upstate buts its going to be all manual for awhile but id like to start learning about building cnc equipment
