Hi All,
I'm looking for CNC types in Northeast Oklahoma. I have a much-modified Practical CNC table for plasma cutting and am planning a CNC router. I'm set up as a retirement/hobby business. I use Corel Draw X3, SheetCAM, and Mach3. I am also considering a CNC conversion of my Grizzly lathe - but that will have to wait until I have more money.

I'm about an hour east of the B.A. in the town where, they don't burn their draft cards down on main street and white lighting is still the biggest thrill of all, says Merl haggard. lol
I have cnc'd a X3 small mill and am in the process of converting a 8x14 small lathe. I've also been messing around with a mini wood lathe some.

I am just south of Bixby, I have a minitech minimill 2 and a highly converted maxnc 15 for wax cutting. I use artcam and mach 3 and do alot of support for small mills. I would be interested in setting up a get together to share ideas, tips ect. If anyone is interested let me know.
Robert
Hi Robert,
Wax cutting? Is that for use in some type of casting?
I don't get out much these days... My transportation is not real reliable.
Tulsa (Bixby, Claremore, Owasso, etc) area is a lot closer then the OKC club I had found on yahoo, so I may be able to borrow some transportation to make it that far. Luckily, the internet companies will ship to my front door...
Cheers,
Jack

Jack, I do mostly Jewelry designing. Which I use wax as my master model, then use the lost wax casting process to make the piece.
Here is my website www.wax-artist.com
Robert,
Nice work! You must use some small endmills and drills. Is the piece for the fire dept a ring or medallion?
I guess you're using a 4th axis... do you use artcam for programming it?
I brought the kit for my mill and then programmed it (without a cam) to build the components for my lathe build. I think it's about time to buy a cam of some sorts.
I'm also thinking about building a cnc router. I seem to be addicted to this stuff.
All I need to do now is win the lotto,
Jack

I did use artcam to program the parts. I also use very small pyramid bits to cut the wax. 15 degree included angle .005 to .003 tip.
The fire department design is a necklace pendant.
Sent you a PM.
Hello,
I'm in Fort Smith, currently collecting parts for a 4' x 8' router build.
I have my rails bearings, and a gantry I believe I'm going to use.
Looking a a probotic plug and play package, Mach 3, not sure from there.
