Mentor needed in central CO Hi all, I have been wanting to get into metalworking for a while and have been eyeballing some mini mills and lathes, but before I commit the money I would like to learn a bit more. So I am looking for a mentor in central Colorado that can teach me about metalworking. Lathe, Mill, cutting, welding anything goes. I am very smart on PCs and electronics, but lacking in CAD, and CNC. So if anybody would be willing to show me the ropes I would greatly appreciate it.

Me too, I have a taig cnc mill and a sherline cnc lathe and it is proving difficult to teach myself how to machine, run cad and cam. Let me know if you find antone, or if you want to get together and see if we can figure this stuff out. I am located in Pueblo Colorado.

I suggest you look at http://www.metal-club.org/ . This is the web site of a central Colorado machine hobby group. Please feel free to attend the next meeting and I'm sure you will find a mentor. P.S> the meeting is at my shop.
