I have been using a PRC 2500W laser for a few years to cut wood. Recently we found out we could cut steel with it by simply hooking up the oxygen lines and using oxygen as the assist gas instead of compressed air. I have successfully cut 18 Gauge, 16 Gauge, and 14 Gauge Hot Roll steel. I have tried to cut 1/8" Hot Roll, but I can not get the cuts to clean up, and now the owner of the company wants me to cut some 1/4" steel, and I can not even get 1/8" clean. Anyone in the Holland Ohio area that has experience with steel cutting on a CO2 laser this size that could give me some pointers, or point me in the direction of a place to get some training?
