| Volts, I'm in Bangor, currently acquiring the stuff to build a 4 axis assembly machine for my shop. I have very little idea of what will work with what, so probably most of what I'm acquiring will wind up back on ebay. regards, jim |

| compufobia, I don't normally do outside machining because I'm generally too busy working on my own stuff. But I'd take a look at it for you if it's just a part or two that can be done with a bridgeport or lathe. regards, jimc |

| jimc What kind of machine are you building (mill /router?). Last spring I built a three axis router on a low budget. Had so much fun, I'm gathering the stuff to build a bigger better one. I'm located in the midcoast area. I used turbocnc with the Xylotex driver on my first machine, but plan to switch to Mach3 and possibly servos on the next machine. Maynard |

| Around $500 for everything. $125 xylotex driver board approx. $100 steppers on ebay $30 power supply ebay free old computer used drill rod with bronze bushings on y and z axis ($50) pipe and machined rollers on x axis (salvaged) Alum. for frame (auction ???) router ($175) Misc hardware (acme rod, alum...) working area is about 24" x 32" attached a pic before I had the router Not sure of the budget for the next one, but aready have THK linear rails. Hope to have a working area of 5' x 10'. I'm glad I built the small one first. Learned a lot about what not to do. Maynard |

| I'm allso from maine I live in Gray work in Gorham. I'm a manual machinest mostly but just started working with CNC milling machines. I run a one man machine shop to support production. I make and repair alot of machine parts, do prototyping, and jigs and fixtures. |

| Also in Maine Got on this site not too long ago mainly to do some research for a few projects in the barn however found this old thread about folks in Maine. I'm located on rte 2 North of Old Town. I know the guy thats taken on the machining duties at UMO however was interested in looking beyond that resource as he's a busy busy guy. Interested in seeing what sort of replys I get to this. |
