| Hi all, Since this thread started back up, I've moved from Bangor to Miami. Right before last winter when you got all the snow. From what I hear about this winter, sounds like the hole in the ozone got bigger and let out all the hot air from global warming. It's been cold enough down here this month for me. Still haven't got my machine built. But I have most of the stuff I need now - except for orders to pay the bills. Chris, I bought a B&S screw machine from Merrimack Mfg. over in Bridgton before I left. They are real good guys, Mark , Alan and Bob. They did a couple runs of parts for me, then when I moved they sold me a machine to make them with. Alan came up to Bangor to set it up and give me a crash course on how to run it. They do real good work - have twenty or thirty screw machines and secondary op stuff. Hope y'all are warm got plenty of wood split. Cheers from Miami. Jim |

| I'm in Maine, looking for a mentor... actually, I'm really looking for an employer. I like living in Maine and I don't have to move to Mass or Connecticut. Anyone want a Mechanical Engineering Grad with a Master's Degree? Appears that the only people hiring are for looking for heating and air conditioning folks with 5+ years experience. Great work but not really up my alley. I like designing and building things. Hopefully we'll start making more things in the USA / great state of Maine again. |
