Noobie with a Kondia K76 Powermill

Me and a friend just bought a used Kondia K76 powermill. It was built as CNC and is not a conversion. It is running Mach 3. We don't know anything about it and could really use some help getting it up and running.

We are both completely new to CNC and Mach 3. Both are looking at the Mach 3 tutorials but are not having a lot of success with the machine. It seems to me that the previous user (or someone) modified the setups prior to getting rid of it. It does not seem to have the home and limits set. If it hits a limit, the electronics quits driving the stepper motor and we can't figure out how to "reset" the system so that the stepper is driven again(without a complete power down).

I can get the machine to jog and even fast jog for the x and y axis but have no clue how to jog the z axis. It has a "joy stick" on the side of the spindle but that doesn't seem to work.

I sent a request to Kondia for information on manuals but haven't heard back from them yet.

Does anyone out there have first hand knowledge with this machine, and if so, would you be willing to help a couple of noobs?
