Guys,
I have been sending out my 2D flat parts to be cut by commercial waterjet company in the past year. And the thickest parts are 1/4" thick 6061 aluminum and other half of the parts are 1/16" and size of the bed be at 24"x16" minimum. Right now I am thinking of purchasing a machine that can cut the parts up to 1/4" thick aluminum, so I can have rapid prototype done fast and then do the actual run with the waterjet company. Since I am on a budget, I can settle for a machine that can cut aluminum at 1/16". So want to learn from someone with experience and some help picking the right machine. Only can spend around 3 to 4 thousands now, if I can't buy the right machine now within my budget, I will wait. I don't mind purchasing a use machine from someone who already have it set up and running either. Thanks.
