Central IL newbie looking for help

I will be finishing my degree in computer science next semester and so far i am not liking the job options in big corps. I thought maybe this could be a fun job where i always learn new things and have to use my brain to do the job. I would like to learn from a pro and learn the right way to program machines. I have programed in java, C, .Net, and assembly just not for anything robotic.

Any help getting started or at least pointed in the right direction would be a huge help.

    Thanks Guys
    Chris

If you are in Central Illinois,
check out Hydro Gear in Sullivan, Ill.
    Amazing place.
I'd estimate over 120 CNC Machines
    mostly Makino Horizontals many with
    Robotics. Numerous Turning Centers
this is normally their slow time, they
    do Hydrostatic Transmissions for
lawn tractors. If you can get a tour
    do it.
