    Default My attached garage shop

Here are a few pictures of my Dream shop. It to me to age 65 to get it as it is but I have all I could ask for, and probably more then I deserve.
and no I did not clean it up for the pictures, I just am in the habit of putting everything back where it belongs after every project and if it is a project that requires many tools and processes, I put the tools away between phases also. I clean the floor a lot sometimes more then once a day. I just find it easier and much more efficient to know where the tools are then to spend time looking all over for the one I need.

Very Nice but MUCH TO CLEAN!!!
However, with the loading equipment, cnc equipment, sheet metal tools, and other "stuff", it appears we have much the same interests!! If I started now and clean the shop I'll be much older when I got finished! I guess that is something to look forward to when I finally retire in a few years!
    Nice toy room!
    Thanks for posting.

    You inspired me!

I went to the garage, and started envisioning where everything could lay out SO much better than the piles my wife gets on me about today.

Then my laziness caught up to me and I also got busy on another project : (

Are you for hire to organize my place?!

    CAD, CAM, Scanning, Modelling, Machining...

Inspiration for the next "reality tv" show on TLC.
    "Clean my shop"
    "Shop hoarders"
    "Shop disaster"

    Any producers listening?

(Edit: and just so we're clear - you would be the "AFTER inspiration"!!!)

Funny you should bring that up.
A few months ago I helped my neighbor across the street clean up and reorganize the wood working shop he has in his garage' It looked great when we were done but he too slips into laziness, But we help each other out with projects so I am able to get on him to "clean it up" when needed.
Oh His wife loves it, she could never motivate him.

Thanks for all the good comments about my clean shop.
I was going to take a few shots of my tool cart drawers but I don't think I could take the harassment

I think at that point, you're just rubbing it in (for those of us who uhhh.... forget to tidy up...)

That is a nice looking shop! Wish I had the foresight to put tools away when I am done with them. Vs my SOP of putting them down where ever I am standing and then spend 20 minutes to look for them.....

BTW, your post did get me to get my @ss in gear a bit... I had started preparing my garage for a lift over 5 years ago. I got it fully installed yesterday thanks in part to this post!

I had to move my Mikini to allow room for my F-150 SuperCrew to get on there too... Haven't rerun my 220 V circuit to accomodate that. I have a ton of work to go, but my wife has commented at how she can see SO much more of the floor now (it was a REAL mess in there, I do fully admit). Still have about 6 gallons of crap in the 5 gallon bucket, but it's better than 30!

Looks like you are well on your way to a clean and orderly shop.
I am glad I was an inspiration of sorts.
