Igus versus skate bearing

I was looking on the Igus web site at the N27/w series linear bearings and some of their other products. I'm starting to plan machine #2/upgrade to machine #1(JGRO). The skate bearings are hard to adjust and the time/cost factor is really creeping into this. Does anyone have some specific recommendations on Igus to hold +-0.005 in the Y and Z axis. How about N27 or the square w (6/20mm) on 1.5in 8020 rail for the x axis? I was looking at the K2 machines, it looks like they are using 8020 or similar for the x axis rails.

I have been using Igus products for years. You will find many posts both positive and negitive about them. I for one am one who would tell you to go for it. In fact in the last few days a thread was posted and some very positive results for some other users. They now have a new line out, its the wq line (I think wq or something like it) and uses a square rail and new bearing inserts and looks like some good stuff. I was thinking about getting a couple rails and bearings and doing some testing. I have used Igus with much success and very pleased with the product and the price. No, they are not THk but they are very affordable and have some outstanding load specs.

You can contact them and get some sample stuff too. My opinion is you will be very happy with them. Good luck.

The price/value seems good. The wq is the square bearing (6/20mm) mentioned earlier, looks ideal to use mounted on 8020 type rail. I will have to talk to a different rep then the one I got earlier, I'm confused and the on-line catalog leaves out many details I need. Good to hear you've had good results.
