My first machine !, comments welcomed

i have posted my cad design about my machine concept and had a lot of feedbacks, thanks, it really helped a lot.

here is my first machine, it works great
the accuracy is unbelivable (to me ) i have placed a pen and made is draw some text from mach2 the text was about 1ml hight with very good accuracy.
no backlash as i used thk precision ground screws and thk linear slides.

i have casted my own gears and screw ball support with my own forumla of polyester resin combined with some additives , the strengh with very very good ( one of them fall from the 6th floor to the steet and didnt even crack)
that mold was silicon rubber diluted to catch every detail (i use cheap silicon rubber)

there are some cosmatic and some miss alligment that i will deal with afterwards.

i think my next machine will be as small as possible, as strong as possible and as cheap as possible.

The Design is pretty cool , but I would like to see it when you clean-up the welds and
paint it. Very very nice design. Great Job dude, keep it up.

painting , hmm
i still dont know what is the best i can use to paint steel and looks smoth and cool ?
should i apply precoating ? sand it afterward ?

its a cad file , so i think you can extract dimenstions from it or make any modifications you like

Like the steel design. How about a copy of your plans to bsouthnow at aol.com. Good Job. However, you must post after the paint job!!! Folks will really appreciate it then!!! Funny what a bit of pigment will do!

Just smooth it down a bit, wipe it off and spray it! Then post up some pics.

what are you using to drive the steppers? this one has a very large work envelope and you have done a very nice job!
