What is 'WashDown' and what would be the benifit of having it on like a gearbox????
Remember, there are two kinds of fishermen, those that fish for sport and those that catch something.
The version of the term I'm most familiar with just means it's sealed against liquids... as in "can be washed down". Some electric motor mfg's use it to designate totally sealed motors for apps like carwashes.
I've also seen it used to mean a housing that can be flushed without needing disassembly (has a fill and a low point drain plug for pressure flushing and refill), though. Seems it's a case by case word as far as meaning.
