    Shifting rod

Im wondering anyone used regular screw to move the axis. My foam mill will be shifting by a 5 3/8 screw rod from Home Depot. This should be interesting.

Yup - I haven't, but many here have used regular threaded rod to build their motion system. I don't know what you mean by 5 3/8, though. If it is 3/8" threaded rod, I am gonna go out on a limb and say your machine is going to be relatively small? Like 2' max?

yea, its a small desk-size to make some carving on foam for lost-foam casting.
