Re backlash

Thanks for your reply's. I should have mentioned the machine is a new industrial mill or vertical lathe (Still crated) from China. They are converting it to CNC so the backlash on the gears is not acceptable, This is more or less around 3/16",two five inch gears should have between .005-.015 "backlash.according to the trade book.
I have now bypassed my Meccano set and gone back to Lego building blocks. Thank's Phil
