I am designing a mounting bracket that holds a small air compressor for air ride suspension. The mount uses 6 springs to support the compressor mount frame from a base plate inside the frame.
Now to the problem, currently I am using 1" .313" OD springs with a wire Dia. of .062" the compressor is still a bit tipsy and i would like to stiffen it up. Should I go with a heavy wire diameter? Also after a few months the springs started to stretch out, would a thicker wire help this as well?
Any thoughts would be great, I found a place to have the springs I need made but there is a $75 charge for setup so i dont want to pay it multiple times to do trial and error if I dont have too.
Thank you all so much for your help! and I hope this is in the right place.
I have attached this picture so you can see the idea here, this is the underside of the mount, the rubber feet would normally mount to the bed of the vehicle and the compressor on the top of the mount.
