| What can I use this for? Its a 2hp DC motor by Pacific Scientific. Found it dumpster diving at work. I got the controller card also. I don't really know what I'm going to do with it, any ideas? Max rpm is 1200. |

| That's a nice one - what voltage DC? Looks like a good Ebay item, I agree. I'd bet it would sell very well. Scott

| By the appearance of the finned stator, it looks like brushless DC? Also that seems like unusually low RPM. Al.

| It's something odd like 180 or 280 volts, but the controller input is 220v. Not sure if it is brushless or not, I don't see anywhere to replace brushes. Now that you mention it, it seems like their were multiple wires in the junction box. |

| funny thing i had 3 new ones at one time. Got them from a freind who got them from his work that was just going to trash them. I ended up selling them on ebay for 350 each plus around 80 shipping but they were new in box without controllers. They were permanent magnet dc and build for conveyor belts, as i remember. I remember one guy was going to use it on his lathe :P other two didn't say. could be a start of a nice generator project 5hp gas motor, windmill, waterwheel, ect, then some transistors and capacitors. There are schematics for dc to ac out there for square wave converters. Would be good for tools other things other then computers and tvs. |
