    Momentum formulas

Does anyone know the formula of the torque momentum of a CNC lathe? I want to make a connection with the machining momentum and see how much I can change the machining parameters.

Start off with the mass and rotational inertia of the head stock, spindle, and motor. If the part being machined is significantly heavy, >1/10 the mass of everything else rotating, add that it as well.

Essentialy the combined inertia of everything that rotates. This will give how hard it is to accellerate / decellerate rotationally. Then multiply that by the diameter of the part being machined to see how much cutting force that relates to.
