O-RINGS REPLCEMENT

DEAR FRIENDS,

WE ARE HAVING A PRESSURE PROBLEM IN ONE OF OUR VANE PUMP AND IT IS QUITE OLD.

WHEN WE CHECKED THE PUMP THERE ARE 2 O-RINGS WHICH ARE WORN OUT COMPLETELY AND WHICH ARE MOUNTED IN ECCENTRIC GROOVE IN A PLATE AND WE THINK THIS IS FROM WHERE THE PRESSURE IS BUILT UP. ALSO THE BUTTING SIDE OF THIS PLATE WHICH IS COMING IN TO CONRACT EITH THE BLADES (VANES) IS HAVING SOME SCRTCH MARK
IS WE HAVE TO REPLCE THEM WHAT SHOULD BE THE HEIGHT OF THE O-RING FROM THE PLATE.

PL BEAR WITH ME IF MY PRESENTATION OF THE PROBLEM IS WRONG.

You can have the oring above the surface by .012" to .020"(.3mm to.5mm), this will depend on how much room the oring has in it's groove (side clearance) the wider the groove the more room there is for the oring to be compressed into so the more you can have above the surface, The oring has to fit in the groove when compressed, if it can't fit then it will extrude outside the groove & not be a very good seal,& will push your side plates out away from the vanes which you do not want

I AM IN NEED OF SOME MORE HELP.

THERE ARE TWO ADJUSTING SCREWS ONE ON THE TOP AND THE OTHER IN THE SIDE.

WHAT ARE THEY AND HOW TO ADJUST THEM.

Some photos would help, I don't think they are ajusting screws, just jacking screws for taking it apart
