Default Automotive 6&4 rib serpentine pulley profile.

Does anyone have a print, or know where I can find the exact dimensions and the radius amount for each rib. Im trying to design a pulley and am lost at this point on where to look for the groove depth's, spacing, and the root and top radii. I dont want to design a belt shreader!

I thought I had that info, but I can not find the automotive specs. Seems I saw it on the Gates site (www.gates.com) someplace!

I have the industrial specs and if memory serves correctly, there is a slight difference:{(

Thank the lord for the Machinist Bible.
Im not sure which profile it is though, im thinking profile K because the gates automotive belts all start with a K on the part number. For example, K060375 is a 6 rib, 37-1/2" long belt. ( I used to work at the parts store in high school).

    EDIT:
Just measured (as close as I can) a pulley I have here off a mustang and im getting a .140" center to center of the grooves. Machinists bible is calling that dimension (pitch) and its for the K Profile. I think we have it!

Do you have the belt? If so there are some measurements I can give you to determine the size.
    the (thickness/distance between ribs) of H=(.12/.063) J=(.16/.092) K=(.24/.140) L=(.38/.185) M=(.66/.370)

    Default Serpentine belt

    Hi,

Try the SAE ( Society of Automotive Engineers ) handbook. Any large library should have a copy.

I finally got a few free minutes and drew up generic Poly-V 6 rib pulley. I also found out that Tool-Flo makes formed inserts for these profiles. Can somebody verify my .dxf drawing is correct. .140 groove pitch, and K profile.
Just want another set of eyes to check it out.

    thanks!

    Hi,

I manufacture vee pulleys, we have special tips made to produce the correct depth/pitch rad.

In metric, the pitch is 3.56 and the depth is 6.80.

Pm me if you need more info ,. cheers chris
