Default Design ideas for my router/plasma cutter.

Thinking about a 4x8 machine, mostly for a router but I'd get a lot of use out of a plasma cutter too. What do you guys think of these ideas? Specificly, the spring loaded stepper motor. The built in plasma water table that can be drained and have a vacuum table dropped in. And the rail system.. angle iron, skate bearings on top and grooved on the side, running on the top of 2x6 C channel? 2x2 steel for the gantry. 20mm drill rod for the gantry and Z axis, with 1/2" aluminum plate for the Z axis. I'm not too enthused about my rail design, trying to balance durability with off the shelf parts. I may end up going with 20mm DIY linear rails there too.

You need some type of gear reduction on that motor.
