How to move work rest, IG 400-IV, matrix.

Hello everybody!

How can I move the work rest by automatic in mazatrol?

I can move it with G-codes in a sub program, but how do I program it in mazatrol?

Machine: Mazak Integrex 400-IV
Control: Matrix

Patrik from sweden

Mazatrol Manual unit

two types on integrex milling manual unit and turning manual unit.

fixed format G code in a mazatrol program. (fixed format = assigned columns for G codes, Axis, F/S words and m code, from left to right)

BEWARE:

A mazatrol manual unit is the only type in mazatrol that DOES NOT RETURN TO INDEX POSITION AT THE END OF THE UNIT. The index position has to be included in the coding at the end of the unit, exactly like a g code program.

At the beginning of the unit, there's a statement that means. "go to turret index position before starting the unit yes/no."

Can you show wich buttons to push at

My manual says this:

UNo. UNIT TOOL NOM-Ø No. # POS-B
1 MANL PRGGENERAL OUT 10. A"½-square"
SNo. G1 G2 DATA 1 DATA 2... DATA 6 S M/B
1 0 Z -200.

"½-square" is the symbol of the top left of a square.

I couldn't get the spaces correct, sorry for that.

My machine speaks swedish, so the names isn't the same.
But I can't find anything that looks like that...

Wich mounting is normal for the work rest, left or right of the lower turret. Now it's monted to the left side of the turret.

Patrik

How do I put in the G-codes in mazatrol?

When I tried manual program, it wont work with the work rest, it don't understand Z2 (work rest axis) after G110.

This is what I want to put in mazatrol:

G110Z2; Activate work rest axis
G0Z-200.; Move work rest
G111; Deactivate work rest

But most of all I want to do it in mazatrol

Edit:
Now I have to do 2-3 sub programs for every mazatrol program
It gets messy...

Question

Did you learn Integrex on 640 MT or 640 MT-PRO?

Program formats that are perfectly fine on 640 have to be overhauled when doing the exact same thing on the Matrix.

G110 and G112, for me, anyway, have always been confusing. Especially when Matrix may use different G or M code program words.

I have a cheat sheet comparing Fusion vs. Matrix programming formats for G code.

PM me with your email and I'lll get them to you.

The G codes i wrote was from my matrix manual.

a factor

your background may be a factor.

mazatrol from T1 to Fusion T, MT , MPRO and MTPRO was an evolutionary progression. program format and contents were very stable as the mill turn machines and 5 axis machines and opposed spindle machines evolved.

Matrix is a REVOLUTIONARY overhaul of mazatrol, possible the first sweeping overhaul of mazatrol since it's invention in 1979.

So a lot of programming concepts and especially machine specific G and M codes for second spindle, lower turret, throwing commands to the opposite control and machine config related stuff like that got OVERHAULED for more consistency across the three or four or five basic types of control.

M=milling machine up to 5 axis.
T= fixed turret 2 axis lathe up to opposed spindle, Y axis and C axis both lathe spindles.
MT = integrex horizontal-lathe based
MT = E machine vertical integrex - milling based

Migrating to Matrix with your background is painful, but once you get over the learning curve, (and the difficult UNLEARNING needed in your case) you should be in better shape to deal with what ever new technology mazak develops for maybe the next five or ten years, regardless of basic machine type.

Now I maybe have an answer...

When I program manual program in mazatrol I can't choose lower turret.

I choose MANL PRG and then GENERAL OUT and then TOOL NAME and IDENTIFICATION CODE. After thar I want to choose LOWER TURRET, the half square icon.
But I can't find that in the menu.

Can it have something to do with the missing option nr 59 (lower turret mazatrol)?
I thougt it only was related to lower turret function, maybe it's a necessary option to move the work rest in mazatrol?

My memory is fuzzy, but when you choose upper or lower turret, no character or symbol appears in the program. It's invisible!

I think.
