Mazak integrex

Hey all,
Anybody happen to know what a B101 code is on a mazak?
I am adding this machine to Mastercam(Upgrading the customers old files from Uniapt)
I noticed they call out a line at the start of every program like this:
"
M371B101
M374
"
I was hoping someone could explain this to me.
I have researched the "M" codes and found that "M371" is an axis load detection and that "M374" is a feed hold during the load detection.
But I cannot find any info on the "B101".
This machine has live tooling and uses the H/V method
I was told by the customer that they think it has to do with the turret alignment, but that they don't really know why it's there.

I would like to know if I am going to put it into my post.
Thanks,
tsaladyga

By look at the code you give, B normally is just for spindle indexer, like X Y Z B C. You can go to MDI mode and test it out, and look up your location screen see what number she gives you maybe B101 could be treat as B.0101, you can try with a decimal point like M371B45.0 see what happen post back with result.

The B might be a separate Miscellaneous code. I wonder if it is defining the load level for the M371 axis load detection code?

B code is for load detection

If the M371 code is for load detection (i don't remember) then the B code is for a table setting for the load detection. And M374 is feed hold if the software detects the load. It has been about 7 years since I have used this option for detecting a certain amount of load on a set axis for an allotted amount of time. We had a 2 axis lathe with a gantry robot loader that would load the parts crooked once in a while. We then purchased the load detection software from mazak. We wrote a manual program to run a tool up close to the part and spin the spindle slowly. If the part was crooked it would contact the tool causing a load (ie. 20% for .1 seconds on the Z axis set in the B101 table) and trip the load detection software and stop the machine. The machine would stop instead of trying to cut the part that was chucked crooked. One could use this software option to watch certain loads on drills or other tools to not wreck them if an insert broke. I would think this software would be most usefull for unmaned machining with a barfeeder or a ganty robot loader. I would contract Mazak and have them fax or mail you the instructions on how to use this. I might be able to get the instructions from my old employer if you cannot get them Mazak. I hope this helps.

This overload detection OPTION has it's own separate manual. HGTCSB0071E is the number for the pdf manual I happen to have.

The whole option requires hitting the manual and understanding it to use this effectively. You have to look at the power monitor screens and remember the data to load it onto the tables as described above.

It is the SCIENCE of overload detection, as done "the Mazak way". It is of great benefit once you've mastered the programming.
