I suspect the cable.
FRIENDS,
WE HAVE A VMC WITH MITSUBISHI 520 AMR CONTROLLER.
EVERY DAY IN THE MORNING WHEN WE WANT TO HOME RETURN THE AXES WE ARE GETTING SERVO ALARM IN THE Z- AXIS( WHEN WE CHECKED IN THE DIAG PAGE IT SHOWS 2D).
AFTER MANUALLY MOVING THE Z-AXIS UP & DOWN WITH MPG FOR FEW TIMES IT AUTOMATICALLY GOES OFF.
DO WE HAVE TO ADJUST THE ZERO RETURN PARAMETERS LIKE ACC/DEC TIME etc. or IS THERE ANY PROBLEM WITH THE ENCODER FEED BACK CABLE.
CAN ANY BODY PL HELP.
THANKS ,
CHANDRU
WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010
I suspect the cable.
That alarm is for a detector communication error. The problem could be in the cable, drive, or encoder.
Try wiggling the cable to see if you can generate the same alarm.
Check the connections on the encoder on the Z motor.
Make sure there is no coolant in the cable.
Check the connection at the servo drive unit.
If the Z axis drive is the same as the X or Y, you can try to swap the drive. Make sure to change the rotary switch on the drive if you swap them.
Try swapping the encoder with another motor to see if the problem follows.
THANKS FOR BOTH ROKINS AND ONTHEBUMPER,
THE FAULT WAS WITH THE ENCODER CABLE.
