MAZAK ALARM 404

Friends,

When we want to create a new programme(mazatrol) we are getting the alarm no 404 blocks>500.

But when we check the programme file screen we are are getting blocks used 27/500.

A bit confusing .The controller is Mazak cam T3.Pl help where we would have gone wrong while entering the data's for the programme.

Alarm# 404 is the following...
Memory Capacity Exceed
Additional machining programs cannot be stored into the storage area of the memory since its capacity has been exceeded, or additional layout data cannot be stored into the storage area of the memory since its capacity has been exceeded.

Corrective Action....
Delete any unnecessary programs, or save exsisting programs into an external storage unit.

Simply , save programs that you don't use that much to a PC or other storage devices.

Chance are the actual storage area has been exceeded and you just don't have enough file storage area left for any new programs.

Thanks for your reply but the problem is in the programme file we have stored only one programme and this alarm comes when we want to create a new programme.

You may need to format the memory on the control. If you go to the program page you should find an ALL ERASE button. Press it and type -9999 and INPUT. This should format the memory. Be careful though because it will erase all of you programs (which shouldn't be that bad since you only have one).
